Eid Mubarak!

EID MUBARAK TO ALL OUR DONORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND BOARD MEMBERS

RAMADAN @MCMF

MCMF: 

  • Feed the Homeless Program served 396 meals to shelter residents.  
  • Food pantry distributed 3500 lbs of food to 55 families.
  • Ramadan project distributed 14,700 pounds of food to the refugees in Prince Georges, Baltimore, and Montgomery County from April 24 to May 5, 2020
  • The school feeding project supplied 22,700 lbs of food to 600 families in Montgomery County.
  • Collaborated with Educare and Pentecostal church to provide160 boxes of groceries to seniors, African American, and Hispanic at-risk families.
  • Partnered with Nourish Now and distributed 600 prepared meals to area nonprofits- ICM, Adventist Social Services, Takoma Park, and low-income families in Baltimore and Montgomery County.
  • Served breakfast to 315 homeless residents in a coalition of the City of Gaithersburg.
  • Celebrated health care workers and the Gaithersburg Police and Fire and Rescue Department by serving them a total of 216 lunches.   
  • Donated 200 face masks to Black Rock Center for Arts serving low-income households in Montgomery County and 50 face masks to Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring.

MCMF donates face masks to Black Rock Center of Arts!

MCMF Sewing Group donated 200 face masks to the Black Rock Center of Arts, serving the low-income neighbors in MOCO and 50 masks to the healthcare workers at Holy Cross Hospital,  Silver Spring, MD. MCMF has another 300 masks coming up for distribution next week. 


In Appreciation of the Gaithersburg and Rockville Police and Fire and Rescue Departments

MCMF serves lunch to the Gaithersburg and Rockville Police and Fire and Rescue Departments. The Montgomery County Muslim Foundation (MCMF) would like to thank the Police and the first responders who work tirelessly on the frontline keeping us safe. We sincerely thank you for being the heroes we look up to!

 

 

 


MCMF Donates Food Baskets to 20 members of Pentecostal Church

MCMF donated $1000 to the Pentecostal Church to feed 20 members of the Church, located at Woodfield Road, Gaithersburg.  The recipients are COVID 19 impacted families who have lost their jobs and majority of them do not have any transportation. The Church volunteers purchased food supplies from Restaurant Depot and distributed to these families.

MCMF COVID activities continue through May 2020

  • May 1 - Distribution of 300 food packages to Green Castle Elementary School in Burtonsville and to Difference Makers in Takoma Park.
  • May 8 - Food Pantry served food baskets to 60 residents of MOCO.
  • May 8 - Distributed meals to 350 individuals in MOCO, through Islamic Center of Maryland.  
  • May 8 - Healthcare Appreciation Week lauched and 50 sandwiches served to doctors and nurses at Adventst Hospital Silver Spring. 
  • May 10 - 32 sandwiches will be served to health care workers at Holy Cross Hospital in SIlver Spring, MD.
  • May 10 - 50 face masks delivered to Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD.
  • May 15 - 100 sandwiches to shleterless wil be distribured in collaboration with City of Gaithersburg.

  • Making of face masks for frontline health workers at area hospitals. 
  • Youth coding classes online.
  • Seniors for seniors calling for welfare checks.

MCMF Healthcare worker Appreciation Week

May 9 to May 15, 2020, MCMF launched the Healthcare Worker Appreciation week and supplied 82 sandwiches to nurses and doctors working with COVID 19 patients at Holy Cross and Adventist Hospital at Silver Spring,Maryland.

 


MCMF had a very busy April 2020

  • April 11 - Food Pantry distribution to Montgomery County residents at MCMF premises.
  • April 12 to 18 - Feed the homeless at Interfaith Women's Shelter, serving 252 meals to the residents.  
  • April 24 - Food baskets distributed to 1000 COVID-19 impacted individuals in Montgomery, Prince Georges County and Baltimore.
  • April 28 - Food baskets delivered to homebound residents.
  • April 28 - Food was distributed to over 100 residents of Takoma Park through Adventist Social Services.
  • April 26 to April 29 - Feed the homeless at Interfaith Women's Shelter, serving 108 meals to the residents. 
  • April 30 - 300 food boxes prepared for Green Castle Elementary School in Burtonsville and Difference Makers in Takoma Park.

Postponement of AGM, Board & EC Election scheduled on March 22, 2020

Due to the spread of Coronavirus, MCMF management has decided to postpone the general body meeting and elections for the vacancies on the Board and the Council that were to be held on March 22, 2020.

The new date of the meeting and the elections will be notified later on.
